Lleyton Hewitt claimed his 27th title in the premier event of the U.S. clay court season at River Oaks in Houston, April 12, 2009. The Clay Courts have a long and storied history in U.S. tennis and after relocating in Houston have featured some of the top names in men's tennis. Recent winners in singles and doubles include Andre Agassi, Andy Roddick, James Blake, Mardy Fish and Ivo Karlovic. World No.1 doubles team Bob and Mike Bryan won the doubles for their 53rd career title and second U.S. Clay Court Championship in the last three years. [ event-advance press release ].
