Every year since 2000 tennis legend Jim Courier brings a two-day music and tennis extravaganza that is perfectly suited for Austin: world-class tennis matched with world-class music to benefit cancer research by the Hope Foundation. The Grand Slam Jam has showcased such marquee names as Pete Sampras, Andre Agassi, Andy Roddick and John McEnroe of tennis fame and paired them with the likes of Tour de France champion Lance Armstrong, New York Yankee standout Paul O'Neill and San Antonio Spurs star Sean Elliot. Representing the music contingent: Mike Mills (REM), Lars Ulrich (Metallica), Eric Johnson, Neal Schon (Journey), Lee Roy Parnell, Endochine, Gavin DeGraw and guitar prodigy Nick Sterling.
