Legendary blues rockers Soul Asylum and Kenny Wayne Shepherd - with Stevie Ray Vaughan's Double Trouble - will headline a star-studded lineup at the ProLink Rockin' Blues Fest August 19 and 20 at Carlos and Charlie's in Austin, TX. The fest also features John Lee Hooker, Jr., reknowned 'guitar slinger' Monte Montgomery and more than a dozen other top-of-the-line acts. The two-day event benefits Palmer Drug Abuse Program (PDAP) and its efforts to help teens and young adults with substance abuse problems.

This summer, Soul Asylum reappears on the national stage with original founders Dave Pirner and Dan Murphy fronting the band and a new LP, The Silver Lining releasing to critical acclaim in mid-summer. Known for his incendiary live shows, Shepherd is thought by many to be one of the best guitarists in the world. His most recent release, The Place You're In, showcases vocal skills untapped on his previous albums.

Now in its third year, the ProLink Rockin' Blues Fest has gathered a loyal following. More than 8,000 fans are expected to join the bands in support of PDAP and provide a swan song to the Central Texas summer on Lake Travis.
