The Labor Day weekend kicks off with a red-hot Country Music Texas Triple Play at the Dell Diamond in Round Rock, TX. Superstars
Clint Black and
Tracy Lawrence will be joined by up-and-coming singer/songwriter - and fellow Texas native -
Kyle Park. The friendly confines of Dell Diamond are the perfect setting for this triple bill, expansive yet intimate. And a portion of the proceeds from every ticket is earmarked for an exceptionally good cause: building a baseball field for the Town & Country Miracle League, so that any Central Texas child - regardless of physical challenges - can play baseball.
What a lineup! Grammy winner Clint Black is a country legend. He's been the Country Music Association's male vocalist of the year, cut two greatest hits albums and has his own star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. His latest album,
Drinkin' Songs and Other Logic has received high critical acclaim for its conscious return to his Houston honky-tonk roots. Tracy Lawrence has one of the most memorable voices in country singing and when he first moved to Nashville that voice opened doors all over town. Since then he's been knocking audiences off their hinges and brings a 14-year performing resume to his recently released retrospective,
Then and Now. Home-grown Leander talent Kyle Park caught the ear of KVET radio host Sammy Allred a couple of years back. Now his songs are frequently requested throughout Texas.
For the past decade, the Miracle League has been helping physically challenged kids all over the U.S. achieve their dreams of actually playing ball. This spring the Round Rock Express and the Nolan Ryan Foundation gave the Central Texas chapter a huge boost with a $250,000 donation for its special "safe-play" field, now under construction. Each Triple Play ticket sold will include a contribution to that building fund.
